Copperfield began with a love of wine and the belief that every bottle should tell a true story of place. After years of farming and supplying premium fruit to leading wineries, the natural next step was to create a small, high-end brand centered on the varietals and vineyards that define excellence in Washington State.
Today, Copperfield focuses on proven sites in Red Mountain, Walla Walla Valley, and Royal Slope, crafting wines that reflect intention, place, and precision. Inspired by Dickens’ David Copperfield, the name and leather-bound label honor heritage, character, and the enduring art of storytelling.

With more than two decades at L’Ecole No. 41 — one of Washington’s most awarded winerie —Mike helped craft wines that earned consistent national and international recognition, including multiple Top 100 placements and acclaim for elevating the region’s reputation for world-class wines.
